Stephen Sange - Talent Acquisition Specialist

Hey Stephen, how did you start your career in recruitment?

Hello! So, I started my career in recruitment with a strong interest in connecting talent with the right opportunities. My initial role exposed me to the end-to-end hiring process, from sourcing candidates to managing stakeholder relationships. Over time, I developed expertise in both agency and in-house recruitment, working across various industries, including cybersecurity, IT services, and SaaS. This experience sharpened my ability to match top talent with business needs while ensuring a great candidate experience.

We know you had experience working as a recruiter in India, how was it?

Working as a recruiter in India with India’s biggest IT Service company was a dynamic and enriching experience. I managed global end-to-end recruitment operations. The role required extensive research and innovative sourcing strategies, including targeted outreach to passive candidates and recruitment marketing plans.

One key highlight was collaborating closely with stakeholders to enhance employer branding. I also led career development initiatives, engaging associates and hiring managers to foster professional growth.

Overall, my time in India allowed me to develop a global perspective on talent acquisition, work in a fast-paced environment, and refine my strategic hiring approach.

How did the shift to working with Global M through the RPO model feel for you?

Shifting to working with Global M through the RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) model was a significant transition that deepened my expertise in embedded recruitment, stakeholder management, and high-volume hiring for global clients. Unlike traditional in-house roles, the RPO model required me to seamlessly integrate into different client environments, adopt their hiring strategies, and act as an extension of their internal talent teams.

Hiring for a cybersecurity company like Forescout meant working in a highly specialized and competitive talent market. I had to source technical and non-technical talent, often engaging with passive candidates through targeted outreach and networking.

At Celonis, a hyper-growth SaaS company, I navigated hiring for tech, sales, and operations roles across multiple global markets.

Overall, this experience strengthened my ability to recruit at scale, manage complex hiring needs, and build strong relationships with top-tier global clients. It also enhanced my strategic thinking, as I had to continuously improve hiring pipelines, employer branding, and candidate engagement strategies.

Being based in Ghana can you tell us about the Business and Tech scene there? What are the current local trends and how do you contribute to the community?

Ghana’s business and tech ecosystem is growing rapidly, with strong developments in agritech, healthtech, and e-commerce. There’s also a surge in startup activity, driven by government initiatives, investor interest, and an increasing focus on digital transformation.

I’ve engaged in youth-led dialogues and ecosystem stakeholder events, contributing to discussions on employment trends, policy influence, and talent development. My experience in recruitment and data analytics allows me to mentor job seekers in positioning themselves for global roles.
