Onsite project with 4 remote Talent Partners

Overview

Global {M} implanted a Lead Talent Partner for 12 months with the OLX Berlin branch, whose sole focus was to integrate and build relationships, whilst leading a team of 4 remote Talent Partners in London, recruiting across Site Reliability Engineering, Development, Engineering Managers, Infrastructure Engineers (AWS), and C-Suite (VP of Engineering).

Why Global {M}

Global {M} has vast experience building international technology teams, and has worked within the German markets for over 4 years, sourcing in-country as well as relocating technology candidates into German Cities; including Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, and Dusseldorf.

Having worked with OLX on a successful fee per placement model, Global {M} agreed to work in a more integrated way to ensure clear communication, and better understanding of the technical requirements. The model proved successful making many key hires, including the VP of Engineering within the European group of OLX Group.

Challenge

OLX are a successful e-commerce platform, with thousands of employees across 45 countries. They have several key development hubs in Europe, across Berlin, Lisbon, Posnan, and Amsterdam. With their size they have built a strong internal Talent Acquisition team. Global {M} wanted to ensure that we understood the entire recruitment process, listening and learning from the Head of Talent, and meeting the Management within the business, to build a clear picture. Once integrated the team had the task of delivering high quality technology candidates, each having their key responsibilities, targets and working with the Lead Talent Partner to deliver to high business growth targets.

Approach

We brought a Senior Talent Partner on board, who travelled to Berlin, and worked there 4 days per week onsite, and within the business. The Talent Partner was an experienced recruiter, with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Once integrated the partner, built a team within Global {M} HQ that delivered across key areas: Site Reliability Engineering, Development, Engineering Managers, Infrastructure Engineers (AWS), and C-Suite (VP of Engineering).

Results

36 hires; development (back-end and front-end), engineering managers, product, site reliability engineers, security engineer, finance, and C-Suite.
