Overview

Global M partnered with Ironhack, a global tech school with nine campuses worldwide, located in Miami, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Lisbon, and São Paulo. Ironhack offers both classroom and online bootcamps, as well as part-time courses in Web Development, UX/UI Design, Data Analytics, and Cyber Security.

Global M’s mission was to collaborate with the Product and Talent teams at Ironhack to help build and scale the Product organisation. The focus was on managing internal recruitment processes for Product roles through Ironhack’s centralised ATS.

As a result, the Global M Talent Partner successfully completed ten hires for Ironhack, six of which were directly sourced. This included supporting the firm in hiring senior talent, such as the Director of Product Management.

Why Global M

Global M was particularly well suited to the Ironhack project. As a globally distributed organisation, Ironhack required a partner with deep expertise in international talent markets — especially within Product and Tech. Global M brings extensive experience in these areas, along with a strong understanding of the Spanish tech ecosystem.

With two of Ironhack’s campuses based in Spain, Global M’s track record of supporting numerous tech startups and scaleups across the country made them a natural fit for this collaboration.

Challenge

The Principal Talent Partner was brought in to focus on several key areas:

  • C-suite and B-level stakeholder management

  • Managing internal applications, referrals, and direct sourcing — primarily through LinkedIn Recruiter

  • Supporting interview panels and processes within the CRM Notion.io

  • Advising on global talent markets, salary benchmarking, and employer branding

The roles supported across the Product organisation included:

  • Director of Education

  • Director of Product Management

  • Senior Product Managers

  • Technical Product Managers

  • Senior Product Designers

  • Salesforce Project Managers

  • Curriculum Engineers

Approach

The Talent Partner had full access to Ironhack’s ATS, Lever, and used it as the central hub for all recruitment activities — managing internal and direct applicants, as well as referrals. Communication was facilitated through Slack and Notion.io, with weekly syncs held with key stakeholders to centralise updates, improve collaboration, and increase transparency across the business.

Given the high volume of candidates, the Global M Talent Partner implemented a data-driven recruitment approach over a seven-month period, ensuring efficient processes and informed decision-making.

The Talent Partner operated both as a delivery engine and as a quality guardian for the interview process. Acting as a trusted consultant, they worked closely with the VP of Product on a daily basis to ensure hiring deadlines were met and budget objectives maintained.

Client experience

Having Rupert on the process has been a complete game changer. Rupert did all the work finding these amazing profiles, we just talked to them for a bit! It has been a pleasure to be honest.
