Overview

Global {M} proudly partnered with Hadean on the successful growth of their technology team. Our target was to hire 1-2 new employees per month across hard to fill technical positions; Linux System Engineer, Unreal Engineer, Bioinformatics Engineers, Backend Game Developer, SDK Engineer, Agile Delivery Manager, Distributed Systems Performance Engineer, DevOps Engineer, and a Biomolecular Modelling Research Engineer. This was achieved by utilising the onsite model.

Why Global {M}

Our talent partner Glen was onboarded into Hadean to structure the talent department, by implementing a candidate relationship management platform to track and build a data-driven and structured pipeline of candidates. The model ensures that the talent partner integrates with Hadean and the team, allowing a better understanding of the values and culture of the firm. This improved the quality of sourcing, candidate experience, and allows bottlenecks to be identified and discussed with team members across the business.

Challenge

Hadean is an early stage technology start-up that required intensive headhunting of niche, high quality candidates that could fit the culture and wanted to be part of a fast-growing start-up in the Gaming, FinTech and BioTech space. The project lasted 18 months and was renewed 5 times due to the success of the work done.

Approach

Glen was integrated into the Hadean team and went on to manage the implementation of recruitee (candidate relationship management platform). After a week of onsite meetings getting acquainted with the hiring team and key decision makers, he went on to search for candidates on a range of tools (LinkedIn, Stackoverflow, and Hired.com). After the first 30 minute HR screening, he organised video calls with the candidates to prepare them for the coming technical interviews. He tracked the progress, using recruitee to generate hiring reports for key stakeholders in the business.

Glen and the Account Manager had weekly stand-ups with the Chief Technology Officer, Head of Engineering and Chief Financial Officer where they analysed the requirements, the recruitment processes, and perfected the interview and search for appropriate candidates. 

Results

Hadean saved 30% in recruitment costs. There have been 17 hires across a number of technical positions; Linux System Engineer, Unreal Engineer, Bioinformatics Engineers, Backend Game Developer, SDK Engineer, Agile Delivery Manager, Distributed Systems Performance Engineer, DevOps Engineer, and a Biomolecular Modelling Research Engineer.

First successful female hire for the software engineer role and further developed the Diversity & Inclusion strategy for the business to attract and retain diverse talent.
